What to see in Jesolo (beyond sea and beaches)

The most interesting places to visit in a day-trip from our camping

Jesolo is certainly famous for its clean and well-organised beaches, as confirmed by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), which has rewarded coastline quality with “Blue Flag beach” for 14 years straight.

But Jesolo is not only about sun, sand and beach beds! There is more than this to enjoy a beautiful city all year long.

Let’s discover what is the best places to see and things to do in Jesolo, among amusement park, shopping and cultural locations.

mod aqualandia

Aqualandia is a 800000 m2 water and amusement park, one of the best in Italy because of its great and wide offer for the fun of adults and kids.

A few kilometers away from Venice, this water park offers games and entertainment for all the family, from the youngest to the eldest, with pools, slides, bouncy structures, sport fields and much more.

Lately, the park has introduced Virtual Reality for Scaryfalls Slide: a breathtaking experience through a swollen river until a steep waterfall.

Aqualandia is divided into areas:

  • Battle intrigo
  • Hemingway Square
  • Laguna de Oro
  • Paradise Lagoon
  • Port Hemingway Main Street
  • Shark Bay
  • TIKI Arena

This is the official website of Aqualandia, for more information and pricing.

mod shopping

You can’t call it “holiday” if you don’t allow yourself an afternoon of shopping!

This is why, among the must-see places in Jesolo, we have to include the wide pedestrian walkway: one of the largest open air commercial area of northern Italy.

After 8.00 pm, Jesolo boardwalk is off-limits for vehicles, for the luck of whom who love walking between sparkling shop lights, restaurants and artisan stands.

Military History Museum “Vidotto”

mod tank

What you can do in Jesolo when it rains?

You can find an indoor interesting place to visit and discover the history of this territory: Military History Museum “Vidotto”.

Within the museum you find relics of Armed Forces and Law Enforcement, such as uniforms, militar vehicles and weapons from First and Second World War.

There is a strong bond between Jesolo and italian First World War events: Austro-Hungarian Army overstepped Piave River in 1917, occupying Jesolo and its surroundings. Italian “foot soldier” and sailors opposed a great resistence and in 1918 they rejected and defeated the invader.

Visiting Military History Museum “Vidotto” you have a trip back in time, discovering hard and unforgettable years of the Great War.

Art Cities

mod venezia

If you are a guest of Jesolo Camping Village, you can reach beautiful and unmissable places in a day-trip.

Fortunately, Jesolo has an excellent position from which is possible to reach some of the most noteworthy cities of “italian boot”.

Venice, a well-known artistic and architectural treasure – and something we are proud of - is 40 km away. Verona, with its famous Arena and the romantic Romeo and Juliet’s balcony, is less than 2 hour away from here.

You should not miss Ferrara (the city of bicycles) and Comacchio (the little Venice), two smaller cities that worth a visit, a relaxing walk among the alleys or a bike ride.

For nature-lover: you can escape cities and dive in the wild nature of Parco Regionale Veneto del Delta del Po and Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei.

Otherwise, you can choose the bike tours, for an open air experience through lagoon and coasting the river.

In conclusion, Jesolo and its surroundings have many attractions to offer, beyond clean beaches and well-organised touristic facilities.

Take a couple days to discover this territory, you will find fun, art and culture for all the family.
